Our volunteers do a little bit of everything at CentrePeace. That’s why there is ALWAYS room for new volunteers. Each person that applies to be a volunteer goes through a short interview process so that we can find out what you want and like to do, then use that information to place you in an appropriate volunteer role. If you’re not sure what you’d like to do, we will match you in an area that most closely matches your talents and experience.
CentrePeace volunteers do everything from price used household goods, to sorting the same, to cleaning merchandise, to serving as a cashier in our Outlet Showroom, to assisting in the training and teaching of our Non-Violent Conflict Resolution courses, to helping us with the general upkeep of the facility.
Each year we recognize our army of volunteers by hosting a luncheon in their honor. We also award an outstanding individual each year as CentrePeace’s “Volunteer of the Year”.

Volunteer Opportunities
- Cashiers Wanted......many shifts available. 1/2 day, 9 to 12:30 or 12:30 to 4. Call Today! 353.9081 or email barbara@centrepeace.org
- Coordinator of Prayer-Mate. 2 to 3 hours per week reviewing correspondence and guiding other volunteers. Very flexible hours. Prayer-Mate is a spiritual correspondence program matching anonymous volunteers with inmates at one of PA's 27 Correctional Institutions, SCI-Rockview. - CentrePeace Restoration and Recycling Project needs drivers for a small van and truck for picking up donated items. Need to be able to lift 50 pounds and be familiar with Centre County. Monday thru Sat.
- CentrePeace Restoration and Recycling Project needs instructors for teaching county work-release inmates to repair appliances, refinish furniture, etc. 4 hour shifts available Tues thru Sat. 9 to 4:00.
- CentrePeace Outlet Store needs help with stocking, pricing and cashier work. 4-hour shifts available Tues thru Sat. 9-4:00. For individual volunteers or small groups.
